Save the best for the last class

I had an interesting yet depressing class today. Interesting because I get to hear it from an American's point of view and I love how this one American dude keep asking questions dengan muka tak puas hati. I guess he thought about it for a long time and he actually cares. He kept asking why why why? Depressing because I was screaming so many questions in my head but I only asked one. It's because we were learning about Israel and Palestine. Yes a very sensitive issue to the Muslims, Jews and Americans.

I can say one thing: the US history obviously toned down A LOT of stuff about this. 

A Muslim dude in class managed to ask one question. Why do you say the Palestinian Liberation Organization is a modern form of international terrorism? Professor said it's because they were attacking the surveillance. Err, poor excuse mister! Before any of us could object, he said that to the Israelis, the Palestinians are terrorists and to the Palestinians the Israelis are the terrorists. Hm okay, that's accepted I suppose. Propaganda gila.

The American dude that I was referring to earlier asked a bunch of questions, really good ones. Mostly it's because what's going on, why it happened, and why is it still happening? As an American guy, neither Jewish or Muslim, he still oppose this. But the professor said "the majority of Americans support Israel". Hmm. 

He also said why not the US just cut off the weapon supply to the Israel? (US supplies 3 million or billion, I forgot what the professor said, to Israel each year. He also said that US will continue to support Israel no matter what but is always pressuring for a peace treaty but can't pressure the Israelis too much. He said each US presidents always tried to sign peace treaty with the middle east) And my professor's response was then US will be choosing a side. But wait, this dude's response was, maybe that is showing that US has stopped choosing a side. (Awesome kan? I love how he's s fast at responding and he can smoothly convey his opinion). Yeah the professor says depends on how people looks at still.

A girl just said, then the president will be in big trouble for cutting the supplies. And this dude just said, well try again for another election.

So the discussion went on and on...

Finally, I asked why is the US involve in this? Supporting Israel with weapons, what does the US get? (I assume nothing kan, buat habis duit je). He said, again it's because the US considers Israel as a western country bla bla bla, mcm gang lah. And again he said the majority of the US citizens supports Israel. I couldn't really focus on his answer because I was screaming "Israel's puppet!!!" in my head.

I have so many questions to ask: Why are they blocking food supply to the Palestinians and letting them starve? Since the Jewish settlers in the Palestine territory are breaking the international law by settling there and everyone knows, why isn't anyone doing anything about it? What do you mean by radical Muslims? (He mentioned about them sending Imams all over the country to spread their 'radical' Islam) So if it's a priest that was sent to all over the world, is he a radical priest then?

But I didn't ask. Because he doesn't know the answer. He only knows what he was told whether among his historian friends or by his historian guru. I'm not degrading my professor, he's funny and awesome. I never sleep in his 4 hours class. But I think that history are 40% crap nowadays. You can ask a different bunch of historian and get a different set of answers. One day everything will be revealed insyaAllah. But can't you seeeee? Yes, I refuse to accept everything that he said or anyone said without a concrete reason. In this world of technology, I want to see a clip or a footage of how things are now. Dengan ramai-ramai journalist kat sana, where is the proof? Let the world know. Don't just write reports and say hell yeah, everything is in order now. This much was killed. Dah that's it. Kalau betul lah the Palestinians are doing better now, alhamdulillah. 

As far a my American classmates are concern, tu je yang diorg tahu. They wonder, they asked, they voiced out. But that's it, They don't feel how I feel and I don't blame them. I don't feel how they feel pun. Alex asked me what do you think? Err I think that the condition is still bad. I really just wanna go there and see how it is for myself and help. Hm. So I asked my friends again why aren't anyone doing anything about the Jewish settlers (they are religiously motivated btw because they believe that it's the land given to them) although it's against the international law? Carolyn said it's because US have their backs.

Sigh, the middle east was portray as a problematic region now, tak nak cooperate dengan America and Israel lah konon. Hamas doesn't wanna talk to the Israelis langsung. Hmm, masa invade org tu, ade ke talk talk dulu? Maybe it's kesalahan masing-masing. Diorang cari je alasan nak buruk-buruk kan middle east region, so leaders have to be careful. And because the political system isn't fully democratic, it's bad. Because tak ikut America je, it's bad.

Yes so now what? Who am I to judge the leaders of the Muslim countries? But all I ask if for a responsible man who always think about his people (regardless of their religion). And for us, the young and blessed with education, technology, a bright future insyaAllah, what are we going to do about this?

P/S: To add the cherry on top, there are still submarines that carries missiles that are patrolling in the ocean just waiting for the war to happen (between US and Russia). Allah the Almighty, if He wants it to happen it will, if He does not it won't.

My last ramble on IAH class after a semester of learning about wars. Be respectful of other people regardless of religion, race and nationality. After all, we're all human and equal.

Honestly, no offense :) Except to the one who killed/help killing people.

June planner

June is almost over and forgive me for repeatedly saying this but I really just wanna go home now. I wanna see the familiar faces that I've missed so much and feel their warmth. I'm seeing things. I'm seeing the KLIA, the highway and my orange house omg!

I'm pretty moderate I suppose. I think it's just taking too long. Everything either grow or fade with time. Constant? Oh it's always sort of like a wave for me (maybe all girls) So I need to be patient a little bit more.

Penat. Tolonglah belajar and don't disappoint yourself after the semester ends. 20 minutes power nap then it's back to work, iA.

Time-out

Before I continue with my lab report this morning, I'd like to give a shout out to my cool professor!

"I hope you love your new profile picture!"

Haha. No I'm not his friend on facebook, but last Friday during our break in class, he asked me to take a picture of him standing in front of the class. He said he wanted to put that on his facebook. Err, awkward! Yes I know, he's a human being with facebook desires as well.

He bought a gallon of coffee from Sparty's for us during class. He gave us all  chips during our exam day; Puts them on every other table and tell us to sit where the chips are. Hehe. He doesn't care if you wanna answer calls or text in class (but em that's a bit rude cos I'm seating in the front row).

He tells us the most interesting/funniest stories esp when he was a lieutenant in China and when he was trying to get a girl during his undergrad (for engineering majors, ratio of girl:boy 1:30 or maybe more).

Oh yeah, the class is an engineering class about lasers mostly. Interesting course and the lab is fun :)

Thanks for the laid back learning experience. That course would be damn hard if it's not taught by him. 2 weeks to go, let's study!

Good News

Alhamdulillah, been receiving tons of good news within this week, enough to make me smile to my ears.

Hadith 4: Tahap Penciptaan Manusia & Amalan Akhirnya

Daripada Abu Abdul Rahman Abdullah ibn Mas'uud r.a. beliau berkata: Rasulullah SAW telah
bersabda, dan Baginda adalah seorang yang benar lagi dibenarkan (iaitu dipercayai):

Sesungguhnya setiap orang di kalangan kamu dihimpunkan kejadiannya dalam perut ibunya selama 40 hari berupa air mani, kemudian menjadi segumpal darah selama tempoh yang sama, kemudian menjadi seketul daging selama tempoh yang sama, kemudian dikirimkan kepadanya seorang malaikat lalu dia menghembuskan padanya ruh dan dia diperintahkan dengan 4 kalimat; iaitu supaya menulis rezekinya, ajalnya, amalannya dan adakah dia celaka atau bahagia. Demi Allah Yang tiada Tuhan melainkanNya, sesungguhnya salah seorang dari kalangan kamu akan beramal dengan amalan ahli syurga, sehingga jarak antaranya dan syurga tidak lebih dari sehasta, lalu dia didahului oleh ketentuan tulisan kitab lantas dia mengerjakan amalan ahli neraka lalu dia memasuki neraka. Dan sesungguhnya salah seorang dari kalangan kamu akan beramal dengan amalan ahli neraka, sehingga jarak antaranya dengan neraka tidak lebih dari sehasta, lalu dia didahului oleh ketentuan tulisan kitab lantas dia mengerjakan amalan ahli syurga lalu dia memasuki syurga.
Hadis riwayat al-lmam al-Bukhari dan al-lmam Muslim (Al-Imam al-Bukhari meriwayatkannya dalam (بدء الخلق (باب ذآر الملئكة) ) nombor 3036, dan dalam ( القدر ) dan dalam ( الأنبياء ) . Al-Imam Muslim meriwayatkannya di awal kitab ( القدر ) bab ( باب آيفية خلق الآدمي ) nombor 2643.).

Kefahaman Hadis :
1) Peringkat Pertumbuhan Janin Dalam Rahim :
Ayat-ayat yang berkaitan dengannya (Al-Haj : 5) (Al- Mu’minun :12-14) Hikmat di sebalik kejadian berperingkat-peringkat : Sebagai pengajaran kepada manusia … untuk mencapai tahap kesempurnaan ma’nawi mestilah melalui cara ((tadarruj)) beransur-ansur tidak gopoh atau gelojoh.

2) Ditiup Ruh :
Sepakat ulama’ menyatakan bahawa ruh ditiup pada janin selepas 120 hari disenyawakan. Hikmat bagi perempuan yang kematian suami, baginya iddah selama empat bulan sepuluh hari … bagi menjamin kesucian rahimnya(tak mengandung).

3) Menggugurkan Janin :
Sepakat ulama’ menyatakan haram (setelah ditiupkan ruh) - dikira sebagai jenayah dan wajib membayar diat (denda) bila digugurkan, sekalipun mati selepas itu. Gugurkan sebelum ditiupkan ruh - juga haram pada kebanyakan pendapat. Ada yang kata boleh tapi pendapat yang dhaif.

4) Keluasan Ilmu Allah
Maha mengetahui keadaan-keadaan makhluk sebelum dijadikan samada iman dan taat atau kufur dan maksiat, bahagia atau derita semua dalam pengetahuannya. Ilmu Allah tidak menghalang manusia dari berikhtiar (Al- Syams: 7-10).

Pengajaran hadis:
Kejadian manusia yang unik menunjukkan kekuasaan Allah SWT mencipta makhlukNya, seterusnya menjadi dalil bahawa hanya Dialah Tuhan yang berhak disembah. Kejadian manusia mesti menjadi renungan manusia yang berakal, kerana kejadiannya yang teramat indah dan unik ini tiada tolok bandingnya - manusia tidak mampu mencipta manusia atau robot bernyawa dan berakal fikiran. Proses kejadian manusia yang berperingkat-peringkat ini telah diceritakan oleh lslam melalui al-Qur'an dan hadis Nabi semenjak 14 kurun lampau, tetapi manusia baru benar-benar arif tentang proses ini di zaman kemajuan sains. lni adalah bukti yang jelas bahawa Allah SWT yang mencipta makhluk ini, Dia jugalah yang Maha mengetahui rahsia kejadian mereka.


Empat ketentuan hidup manusia telah ditetapkan oleh Allah SWT semenjak dia belum lahir ke bumi - rezekinya, ajal kematiannya, amalannya dan nasibnya sama ada dia akan menjadi seorang yang susah atau senang.


Amalan terakhir manusia adalah faktor penentu kepada nasibnya yang kekal abadi di akhirat. Boleh jadi dia sangat baik si sepanjang hayat - tetapi di saat terakhir dia melakukan perbuatan ahli neraka, iaitu maksiat lalu dia mati dan mendapat balasan neraka. Begitulah sebaliknya.

Happy birthday dear love.

It's a pleasure being friends with you after all this years. Can't believe that we are (has turned/will turn) all twenty-one this year. Thank you Allah for the life & blessings, and the friendship that last and hopefully, till forever. Adila, you have always been an inspiration, not only to me, but many of our fellow friends. Though we are miles apart, and the number of times that we met after we parted to boarding school at 16 can be counted by fingers (I believe less than 10 times), I know that the next time we meet, it will be like we've never been apart. I love you.
