MSO Family Day 2012

Kudos to the organizing team, it was wonderful and memorable indeed. Sukaneka brought out the best in everyone. Everyone was a team player and the event was a huge success in terms of joy and laughter. Wonderful silly games to the kids at heart! Food was indeed Ah-mazing! Who else have the best food other than Malaysians? Most people were obscenely full.

We reached at the height of the program during the Graduation Dinner. It was one teary occasion reminiscing the good and bad times, appreciating friendship, asking for forgiveness and forgiving and the unsaid love that lingered in the room. No words can describe what the hearts felt and we are all tied with an imaginary string that no one else could feel.

With that, I am grateful Ahlhamdulillah. My ticket is booked, boxes will be shipped soon and class will be done very soon. I'm erasing my physical traces here in MSU but I hope that my contribution (if any), my love and support will stay. Engineering Building, I will miss you.

Malaysian Night is gonna be great, iA.

When Hairi Met (Mahsuri first, then) Sue Li

Last night, the MSO-MSU organized a Malaysian Cultural Night 2010 at the Hannah Community Center, Abbott Road. About 250+ audience showed up for the event :) Thank you very much fr your support!

So anyway, "When Hairi Met Sue Li" is a sketch which includes the Malaysian cultural elements (Mahsuri, dikir barat, tarian kurik kundi, silat, kompang, Malay wedding, tarian muhibbah) We also tried to make it as Malaysian as possible with the sepak takraw, tampi beras, nelayan, teh tarik, roti canai, warung, etc.

Here's how the story goes; Hairi was attracted to Mahsuri and tried to win her heart with the dikir barat. Aww, haha. Then the moment he admitted his love to her, Mahsuri was caught by the orang kampung because she was framed of adultery. She was sentence to death ;( Hairi was frustrated, sat by himself all alone at the kampung. Sue Li and her friends decided to cheer him up with the tarian kurik kundi. Sue Li also invited Hairi to join the dance which he did, aww :) it was very sweet! But after the dance, 3 samseng decided to mengorat Sue Li. Gasp. Hairi was pushed aside but luckily, his friends were there to the rescue. The 3 samseng and 3 friends of Hairi's bersilat like gentlmen and of course, the good guys won. yay! Hairi and Sue Li was saved and they fell in love :) Looks like cupid had struck his arrow again on Hairi. They finally got married and live happily ever after, The play ended with a tarian muhibbah. TAMMAT :)
