Macaron/Italian Maccherone/Venetin Macarone

Macaron - A delicate French pastry

Apparently, macaron has become the in thing in the US (or the whole world). Because I'm here in the US and I've never seen it before. I found out about this macaron-madness from a few friends in Malaysia. That's for going to school in East Lansing. Heh.

I admit, they looked rather tasty. Try google image for macaron and I bet you wanna put that yummy looking thing in your mouth this instance.

An interesting article on macaron that I'd like to share:
Mon Dieu! Will Newfound Popularity Spoil the Dainty Macaron?

"It was so weird to see these delicate, very French pastries in something that's so American. It's kind of like if you showed up in a tuxedo to a baseball game, it was so out of place," Ms. Lightwine
In Sofia Coppola's 2006 film "Marie Antoinette," the young queen offered macarons to the Austrian ambassador. Macarons have since appeared in Oprah Winfrey's "O" magazine, on cooking shows, in an episode of "Gossip Girl" and in wedding magazines. "I Love Macarons," the new book written by Japanese pastry chef Hisako Ogita, provides detailed instructions on how to make the treat at home.
I think macaron is more than just a pretty face.
